Castle Cushion Frog Pad

Castle is Soundness for the Equine Athlete! The experts in Hoof Pads!

Castle Plastics has been in the hoof pad industry for ten years and the plastic business for 80 years. They have introduced most of the successful pads in the past decade. Guided by farriers worldwide, today these pads are used extensively every day around the world. Castle pads are manufactured in the USA from virgin polyurethane material.

Natural Balance Frog Pad

The Natural Balance Pad aids in the biomechanics of the foot by; supporting the frog buttress, stimulating proprioceptors, dissipating energy, promoting a heel-first landing, aligning the distal phalanges, improving circulation and promoting heel expansion.

The durable, opaque Urethane material has been formulated to provide the optimal equilibrium between flex and rigidity. There is a "crystal clear" window just ahead of the frog piece so that the shoe/pad unit can be more accurately place on the foot relative to the solar structures.

Specially located cutouts or voids in the frog piece replicate the central sulcus and (less dense) midsection of the frog. These features allow the pad to flex and transfer support in a way that mimics the natural biomechanical function of the frog.

The heel portion of the frog piece is relieved so that the heels of the shoe can be brought in for cases of contracted heels. The wall of the frog piece in the heel region is upright so that dirt can pack between the frog piece and the shoe to offer full caudal support. At the same time, as the frog piece goes forward, there is a gradual taper to allow the dirt to clean in the anterior part of the foot.

The Natural Balance Pad can be used with or without Impression Material, depending on the quality of the frog and required application.

EDSS Frog Pad

This durable plastic EDSS Pad is used in conjunction with the EDSS Shoe. It has a stainless steel insert embedded in the toe region for a firm (seated out) attachment to the shoe. The molded EDSS frog inserts attach to the ‘keyed’ base on the EDSS Pad.

The height of the frog inserts can be adjusted to increase or decrease support through the Impression Material to the frog, bars and sole of the foot. This will help enhance blood circulation and heel expansion.

Myron McLane Full Support Pads

Supports the bony column of the hoof, distributing weight from the hoof wall to the frog.

The release of pressure increases the blood supply to the hoof wall area, which allows for maximum hoof growth. Ideal for Underrun Heels, Quarter Cracks, and Laminitis.

Grand Circuit Flapper Pad (Firm)

The Flapper takes a half shoe fitted into the recess in front of the heel portion of the pad. This results in the dispersal of pressure and concussive force on the horse's heel area. The frog and bars are designed to have "passive" ground contact and are supporting structures. The Flapper is useful in treating: a) general bone and joint soreness, b) weak or contracted heels, c) navicular syndrome, d) ringbone, e) sidebone, f) quarter or heel cracks.

Sold in pairs.
